The villain sent Aria a message at her parents' wedding, demanding that the Liars reveal the name of Charlotte's killer by election night. Emily spotted Mona having a conversation with the gentlemen who has been assisting Sara Harvey. In addition, Aria and Ezra move forward with their book.
Emily spotted Sara retrieving that cardboard tube courtesy of her handler. She goes to Caleb for help executing her risky plan, and he's surprisingly down for it, especially after Hanna basically tricks Spencer into thinking she killed Charlotte by stabbing her in the back of the neck with a candlestick. Hanna confesses to Charlotte's murder - she says that she snuck out of the hotel and saw Charlotte at the church and hit her in the back of the head with a candle stick. Hanna doesn't tell Ali about the card - she folds it up and sneaks it out of the room. Spencer totally bought what was being sold, even though it was a major fib. And the Pretty Little Liars were not the only ones getting harassed. Aria felt a bit of pressure from her publisher to produce the best possible book ever.
A flashback revealed Caleb and Spencer spending quality time in Madrid, where their attraction first sparked. Lucas purchased new property and gave his pal Hanna the opportunity to chase after her dreams. I honestly don't know how she could have TAKEN THE TUBE from him and then HID AND OPENED IT without him really noticing (especially if he fetched the tube on an important errand??), but okay. Why do I suspect Lucas is after more than he is willing to divulge?
Alison wakes up in the hospital - and her not-so-dead mother is standing over her. Alison is certain that it is her medicine, and she is just dreaming. Was Ali dreaming or were the writers playing a game with the viewers yet again? Could she indeed have a twin? Who do you think has a twin? "You know there are always twists and turns", she said.
