Grace and Zayday doing some girl bonding over grocery shopping being that there is no food in the Kappa house, Zayday even mentions how some of the Chanel’s have started eating cotton balls as a food substitute, just ew. Zayday grabs a bag of chips and we see the Red Devil watching the girls and when Grace goes to another aisle to grab something, he attacks. The girls fight him off and prepare to unmask him only to realize that it is just a prank and they haven’t actually caught the killer at all. Chanel and Chanel #5 are discussing the whereabouts of Chanel #2’s body being that it’s now been taken from the freezer, much like Ms. Bean’s, still not over it, still not over it. Chanel #5 expresses that she is over everything and wants out but Chanel threatens her telling her that she will destroy her. Grace and Zayday are still playing detectives as they wander around Chanel #2’s room looking for clues as to what happened to her. They find the stain on the floor where her body was found and consider it to be blood, in which Denise then enters and tells them it is in fact blood. She sprays a special liquid on it to highlight the fact that it is indeed blood and she even shows them the send help tweet Chanel sent before being killed, though Grace and Zayday still have doubts being that Chanel #2 posted a picture on Instagram laying by the pool. The only explanation for this is either someone has Chanel’s body and is using her social media to post pictures making people believe she is alive or she is indeed still alive and has faked her own death, much like Boone. Either or wouldn’t surprise as this show keeps taking left and right turns every chance it gets, Chanel #2 could very much be the second Red Devil for all we know. Dean Munsch sets up a Rally for Sanity in hopes of the school coming together and uniting in the tragedy that has taken over the school and being able to “take back the night.” Many students in the walk decide to hold signs up establishing that they are not part of Kappa and do not wish to be as the Red Devil seems to only be targeting Kappa affiliates. Chanel and Chad have their, what seems to be daily, break up routine and Sam strikes a conversation with Chanel #3. Chad says that Boone’s murder was ruled a suicide by the coroner but he believes otherwise. Dean Munsch is obviously wanting to protect the school’s image and prove that she has everything under control and safe rather than worrying about the killer on the loose. The end of a short speech introduces the school’s new mascot Coney, a vanilla ice cream cone. The following day, Grace and Zayday make their way to Chanel #2’s home hoping to find her there or speak to her parents about what’s going on. Without giving too much information, Grace and Zayday speak to her parents and find out she was dating Chad while Chanel was and that she has a drinking problem and was in rehab numerous times before. Her parents tell the girls that they do not want her back after the girls find her, talk about harsh. When Grace gets back to school, her father enters as the new professor of her intro to film analysis class. She confronts him and leaves, upset that he would take the job to watch over her. The first film he shows the class is the horror classic and iconic Texas Chainsaw Massare which scares nearly half to them, even forcing one to throw up, lol. Gigi sneaks in during the film and meets Wes after class to make dinner plans. Dean Munsch interrupts and says she wants to talk to Gigi at her tennis arena to discuss something. Coney makes his second, and last, appearance as the big man on campus, walking around grabbing girls’ butts and breasts, claiming to be “Top Dog”, even stealing money. Unfortunately that glory is short lived as the Red Devil finds their way to Coney and a small fight occurs. While Coney puts up a good fight, it’s no match for the Red Devil and their chainsaw as they get Coney down to the floor and chainsaw his head clean off. RIP Coney, our favorite mascot ever. Hester decides to help herself into and around Chanel’s closet, grabbing things, putting them on and smelling her clothes. Chanel is upstairs and finds Hester snooping around and confronts her about it. Hester tells Chanel that she’s sorry and all she wants to do is be like her. Chanel comes up with a brilliant plan to give Hester and make over and removing her neck brace. Dean Munsch and Gigi are playing a game of tennis, or rather Dean Munsch is owning Gigi who can’t seem to play to save her life, and that’s when Munsch tells Gigi of her master plan to keep Kappa on lock down and make sure everything is safe, while also getting the inside scoop from inside the Kappa walls. Munsch thinks staying there for a week will be the perfect opportunity to keep things flowing smoothly, Gigi agrees and Munsch warns her to stay away from Wes because him and her are a thing. Chanel #5 and Sam have a small moment together where #5 explains that the father she knew growing up was not in fact her but her mother had affair and her birth father is Charles Manson, the infamous killer. She tells Sam that the reason she needs to keep it a secret is that if people knew her father was a killer, they would automatically assume it was her solely based on who her father was. The two come up with a plan that if another killing happens and either of them go up as a witness, they would us each other as the alibi, they’d be alibuddies. The Kappa girls meet downstairs and before Chanel arrives with her surprise, Grace and Zayday tells everyone that she went to find Chanel #2’s parents and it turns out she was dating Chad, that’s when the other Chanel’s admit that Chad was dating them as well, all while dating Chanel #1. Chanel eventually comes down with a brand new Hester, who is now considered Chanel #6. Chanel #5 flips out on Chanel and tells her that she doesn’t care about Kappa or anyone but herself but Chanel pays no mind to the comment and proceeds. Just after finishing a sentence that sounded as pretty harsh, harsh hazing, Munsch and Gigi arrive to the Kappa house to start their move in. Chad meets with his frat brothers and the group devices a plan to run around with bats and call out the Red Devil until he shows face and they could beat him up due to revenge of killing Boone. Chad and his brothers take to the bar, then the streets and begin beating a red car thinking it’s the Red Devil’s. Just then, two Red Devil’s appear on both sides of the group and they charge and try to fight. During the fight, Chad’s friend gets his arms cut off with a chainsaw before being knocked to the gorund. Denise drives by Zayday on her way home and tells her to get in that she will give her a ride, bad move. She handcuffs Zayday into the car and wants answers, she believes that Zayday is the killer. There is a bit much of evidence against Zayday, even a tweet to Shonda Rhimes aboutHow To Get Away With Murder. Denise is almost ready to be done with her, until she brings up the chainsaw she found under her bed Zayday insists that’s just to protect herself from the killer and her grandma sent it to her. Denise lets her go. Dinner with Wes and Gigi had to be the most awkward thing ever. They have a good time together, the only issue that was that Dean Munsch decided to invite herself to tag along since she was staying with Gigi in Kappa. That night, Munsch and Gigi are getting ready for bed when Munsch turns on an annoyingly loud and intense sound box with different sounds that bother Gigi into moving to the couch downstairs. Once she’s settled, the Red Devil pops up and revs up his chainsaw. Gigi puts up a good fight with no help from Wes and knocks the killer out but his body disappears after seconds. Gigi and Wes point the finger at Munsch as the episode closes and we are left craving more!

We begin with the fish oil tablets, the remnants of unworthy people strewn about an apartment and a mysterious, LOST-like fog out the window. A new Inhuman is wreaking havoc, though he knows he needs help, and the people who have found him are not helpful.
He gets trapped in an alley, but that’s when Skye/Daisy, Mack, and Hunter show up. They send for some sort of super high tech containment chamber that takes him back up to the brand spankin’ new Bus, since they exploded the last one. A mysterious woman shows up at the scene of the crime, and Coulson gets a shot of her face. It turns out she’s been capturing these various Inhumans as they crop up, and is royally ticked that one got away. She has four different aliases with four different organizations, they come to discover later. Up on the new Bus, Skye tries to talk some sense into the new Inhuman Joey, but he’s not quite understanding (understandably so). She does ask him if he takes fish oils; he replies not every day. Then we get our first shot of Bobbi in her new role! She’s the welcome committee for new Inhumans, so she’s down in the lab now; we find out later she’s still in rehab for her once-broken knee. Once Joey is “unpacked,” Skye and Mack pay a visit where Skye lays out the truth about his Inhumanity, and again, he doesn’t quite get it. He seems mostly upset about not being able to go back to his old life, so Mack turns on the TV. “The world’s been a little twitchy since Sokovia fell out of the sky,” Skye says over the news broadcasts begging for any witnesses to come forward. Joey freaks, and Skye fires a warning shot…aka she shoves him against a wall with her powers. Meanwhile, Coulson pays a visit to Bobbi in the lab and helps catch the audience up on what’s going on. It turns out the fish oils are not deadly to humans, but are game-changing to Inhumans, so that makes sense as to why half the population isn’t dead. However, she points out the fact that the Terrigen Crystals could have spread to other sea life and could really be anywhere. Fitz , by the way, is off chasing one last lead on the Monolith, which hasn’t done anything since it swallowed Simmons. It turns out he’s off in Morocco, chasing one more lead regarding the Kree stone. At knife-point, he gives us a quick history of it: it was buried in the Yucatan for thousands of years, a skull casing over 1000 years old holds a parchment that describes the Monolith, which happens to be in the room he’s in. In return for the scroll, he gives them splinter bombs, which they attempt to use against him…but it’s a flash bomb, and Fitz gets away with the parchment. Back in the lab, Bobbi figures out the mystery organization’s gun: it’s DARPA. They track the mystery woman’s route, so Coulson and Hunter go to corner her, only to fall into her own setup. Between subway stops, Coulson and mystery woman Rosalind have cagey banter. She claims to be in charge of neutralizing the threat the Inhumans present and is annoyed that Coulson is killing them before she can get to them. But it turns out someone is killing the Inhumans after SHIELD loses them but before Rosalind finds them. That “someone” is tracking down Lincoln at the hospital where he now works. And it just so happens that Skye and Mack are there attempting to get Lincoln out of the nice little life he’s built for himself. Bullets, electricity, and quakes don’t seem to do much of anything to this mystery guy. Both Coulson and Rosalind get phone calls about the situation on the sub, which is when Coulson and Hunter break free. Unfortunately, in the hospital, the Inhuman gets away while Lincoln flees and Mack and Skye escape as well. We get a fun cameo from the MCU President of the United States discussing all of the alien threats in the last three years. As he gives his speech, Coulson’s scenario machine regarding the spread of Inhumans finishes. The results are less than stellar. Coulson is in the lab when Fitz returns and gets to see that the scroll Fitz tracked down is the Hebrew word for death. Coulson tries to talk sense into Fitz; they need to say goodbye to Simmons, they need to make it official. Fitz seems to relent his mad witch hunt for answers…except that he goes into the quarantined room and screams at the Monolith to do something. Heart-wrenching screams. Post-Credits Stinger: It’s Simmons! Running through rocky, dusty terrain with a cut above her eyebrow. She comes around a corner and we see multiple moons/worlds in the sky behind her. Badass Moment of the Week: All of the Inhuman powers. We saw glimpses of them last season, but it’s really fun to see them in full action now that people aren’t afraid to use them…or are still not in control of them. Best One-Liner: “You’ve been spying on me?” Joey asks angrily. “I looked at your Facebook page,” Bobbi replies with a shrug. Rosalind seems to know quite a bit about Coulson, especially the TAHITI Project. That was less of a throwaway comment and more of an angry stab. I want to know where she’s getting all of her information. Any theories? I’m sure I’ll come up with something. If you were wondering about that mystery super crazy Inhuman, his name is Lash. In the comics, after a Terrigen bomb goes off over New York City, he makes it his personal mission to track down all of the Inhumans and judge whether they are worthy to have their powers. This sounds like it’ll be fun! I very much enjoyed the Ant-Man shoutout about Simmons potentially going subatomic inside the Kree stone. Now that would be clever! We’ll see what next week holds and where exactly she is. It saddens me to hear that May left for vacation and didn’t return. Five bucks says her super awesome mother is having her do something super awesome and super secret. Or maybe her and Andrew are double-dating with Hawkeye and his wife. Likewise…I’m glad to see Bobbi and Hunter actually getting along (and potentially getting married?! I didn’t quite understand the ring gesture, though my hearing is also very shot in one ear at the moment). I like their vendetta to track down Ward. It doesn’t sound like a very good plan, but if anyone can make it work, it’s Bobbi and Hunter. Guys, it’s going to take me a review or two to start typing Daisy instead of Skye. I’m thinking/hoping it’s more of her codename or mutant name, like Storm or Mystique and that’s just what she goes by now. I mean, it’s not like anyone in the X-Men movies calls her Ororo. Well this is a good way to start an Agents of SHIELD season. I feel as though this episode was full of flash, but not too much, and just enough teasing for future plot threads to keep people interested. Mayor James has been kidnapped by Theo Galavan and is tied up with a metal box covering his head. Galavan taunts him with two decisions: he will drop a tarantula into the metal box, or James can call his own secretary to make an unknown arrangement. James fearfully complies to the second option. Galavan goes on to tell the Mayor that he’s part of his plan to “cleanse” the city. At the Gotham Gazette, the editor demands headline-making stories from his staff. With his back turned to the window, he doesn’t see bodies falling from the top of the building. As we go to the roof, we see Jerome and the rest of the inmates killing people by throwing them down. The dead bodies line up to form the word “MANIAX!”
At GCPD, Essen leads a conference with the cops. Gordon gives everyone a rundown of the escaped inmates and quickly puts them into action. At Galavan’s, the inmates eat breakfast. Galavan wants team Maniax to make a grand entrance. His plan it to take what’s sacred to Gotham City and then offer the people salvation. He needs their first introduction on TV to have charisma, which leads him to having Jerome demonstrate an entertaining speech. Mayor James suddenly enters with Tabitha and Barbara whipping him. Barbara tells Galavan that she also want to have some fun. At Wayne Manor, Bruce and Alfred are in Thomas’s secret cave. Alfred is hesitant in letting Bruce turn on his father’s computer. Adamant, Bruce switches it own, but Alfred smashes it. Alfred is trying to keep Bruce safe and never wanted to help him, seeing that Thomas also had spare blood and a bulletproof vest laying around. Bruce tells Alfred to leave and that he’s now fired. Back at Galavan’s, Jerome and Greenwood fight over a samurai sword with Jerome using a chainsaw against Greenwood. Galavan enters and stops them. As Jerome and Greenwood make it a competition to see who’s a better murderer, Galavan proposes a game of Russian Roulette to settle the argument. Greenwood takes the first turn, leaving unscathed. Jerome takes his turn, but doesn’t stop there. He exhausts all chances, but stops short of the final chamber — where the bullet resides — making him the winner. Gordon visits Bullock at the bar, but Scottie (last seen in The Fearsome Dr. Crane), Bullock’s fiancée, is not keen on Gordon’s presence. Gordon wants Bullock to rejoin the GCPD. However, Scottie doesn’t want Bullock to go back being a cop. Before Gordon leaves, Bullock gives his old partner one last thought: why did the Maniax kill people at the shipyard? Gordon reports to Essen that Bullock won’t be rejoining the force. He tells her that he followed up on Bullock’s idea and discovered that a refueling truck was stolen at the shipyard. In a side conversation, Essen asks if Gordon ever thought of quitting. Essen says that she had thought about it, but doesn’t think about it anymore. With his suitcase packed, Alfred says his final words to Bruce and departs. The refueling truck is seen somewhere in the city. Jerome and the rest of the Maniax target a school bus. In the records annex of GCPD, Edward attempt to ask Ms. Kringle on a date, but has an awkward exchange instead. After she leaves, his other personality taunts him for his inability to close the deal. The Maniax stop the school bus and hold the teenagers on it hostage. They douse the bus and everyone in it with gasoline. Jerome’s first attempt at lighting the inferno fails, giving the GCPD just enough time to arrive. The Maniax initiate a shootout, but the cops are unable to return fire in fear of igniting the gasoline. Gordon runs towards the bus and tackles one of the Maniax, Dobkins, just as the lighter is lit. With the fire now racing towards the bus, Gordon jumps in and drives it safety. With Dobkins in custody, Gordon questions him. About to reveal Galavan, Dobkins is shot in the head by an unknown assailant. Up in the rooftops, Tabitha stows away her sniper rifle and leaves the scene. As he waits for his train, Alfred is visited by Bruce. Bruce tells Alfred that he understand that he was just trying to protect him and that he really doesn’t want him to leave. He wants Alfred to support him finding out more about Thomas’s activities. When Alfred tells Bruce that he isn’t ready for the truth, Bruce tells him to make him ready. Alfred agrees, but makes Bruce promise him that he is to do everything he tells him with no exceptions. The deal is solidified after Bruce has Alfred make a promise of his own — fix his father’s broken computer. At an upscale lounge, Alfred runs into Lucius Fox. He introduces himself and tells Fox that it seems like a coincidence running into him. Alfred goes into a moralistic story about trust — illustrating the point that there are friends you can trust and friends you can’t. He wants to confide in Fox and wants to know if he’s trustworthy. Alfred blames Fox for creating a mess after telling Bruce that Thomas was a stoic (seen in The Anvil or the Hammer). Alfred warns Fox that if it’s discovered that he’s not trustworthy, he will kill him. Fox tells Alfred that he only has the best intentions for Bruce. At GCPD, Gordon receives a call from Barbara. As Gordon tries to get her to turn herself in, he sees that she’s actually on a cell phone and has entered the station. When he quickly leaves to go after her, Jerome and the Maniax, dressed as officers, enter the station. They drop smoke grenades and shoot everyone on site. Kringle, in the line of fire, is quickly saved by Edward, who is also shot in the arm. Gordon follows Barbara right into an ambush with the dimwitted Helzinger. Right before Gordon loses consciousness, Barbara taunts Gordon and tells him that he should get back to the station. At GCPD, Jerome exchanges words with Essen. She tells him he’s crazy and that after he’s dead, the world will still go on. Jerome tells her that the Maniax will leave a mark on the city. As Greenwood is about to start filming, Jerome kills him for speaking out of turn. Essen, disgusted by Jerome, spits and head-butts him. Regaining consciousness, Gordon grabs his gun and stumbles back to the station. Gordon enters to a scene of carnage. He quickly finds Essen being tended to by other officers. With a mortal wound, Essen says her final words to Gordon before dying. In Thomas’s secret cave, Fox attempts to fix the computer. Bruce asks Fox if Thomas had ever told him anything. Fox tells Bruce that Thomas was a very private man and that he regrets not helping Thomas more. Alfred quickly runs in with an urgent message for Bruce. Alfred and Bruce arrive at GCPD. Finding Gordon, Bruce apologizes for being hard on him the last time they met (seen inDamned If You Do …). Gordon, inspecting Essen’s office, finds Harvey at the doorway. Parting his jacket, Harvey reveals his badge. He tells Gordon that Scottie will understand. On TV, the news airs Jerome’s video introduction where he gives a maniacal, brief manifesto and tells Gotham City that he’ll be back soon. Best Moments: Essen spitting and then head-butting Jerome after he reveals his grand plans. Final Thoughts: I think one of the biggest problems I’ve had with Gothamhas to deal with plot conveniences. Knock, Knock is no different. Two examples right off the bat: it just so happens that the Maniax have difficulty lighting the lighter, giving just enough time for Gordon and the GCPD to arrive; and Thomkins easily hides behind a lab table where she’s clearly exposed, but Greenwood doesn’t find her. Then again, these problems are probably blatant in many shows. However, because Gotham‘s writing is not up to par, the viewer is never given a suspension of disbelief. If the writing and story were more compelling, we may just give all of these sins a pass. Setting up Thomas Wayne as a previous Batman is also a bad idea. Yes, I know that in other media he did have that career, but only in alternate universes. Unless Gotham is an Earth-2 or Earth-whatever interpretation, I’m not ready to accept this. The creation of Batman should only come from Bruce and his driven determination to clean up Gotham City. Having Thomas pass that mantle to him in any way really tarnishes the legacy of the Dark Knight. And what’s up with Galavan’s clichéd plans? How many times have we seen a billionaire use his money and power to create a problem just so he can be seen as a savior when he solves it. Really? Are the writers even trying at this point? I think Galavan’s blatant revelation to the Maniax about this plan and his over-the-top speech are what did it in for me for this episode. Season 2 is certainly turning out to be a mess. Every episode seems to contain some sort of cheap shock or cheesy violence in a bid to gain audiences attentions. *Thursday - September 24th

The KKT house is having a party when one of the girls gives birth to a baby she didn’t know she was pregnant with in the bathtub upstairs. Everyone decides that helping her can wait until after “Waterfalls” by TLC is over because that is their song. When they return, she is dead.
Flash forward to 2015 and the glamorous Chanel Oberlin rises from her bed as she greets her “minions” with a “Good morning sluts.” There is Chanel Number Two , Chanel Number Three, and Chanel Number Five. Chanel Number Four got Meningitis and died. Chanel’s used to be a minion herself, but was kicked out and not even allowed to give the current president her spray tan like she was supposed to. The girl that did ended up killing her because the spray tan was filled with Hydrochloric acid. We are still not sure if that was Chanel’s doing or not. We see our first glimpse of the Red Devil enter the room before she dies. The KKT house’s maid, Chanel refers to her as “White Mammy”, informed her that Dean Munsch needs to see her. Chanel and Munsch could not hate each other any more. Munsch blames KKT for the way young girls see themselves. As a way to punish Chanel, Munsch tried to end their chapter of KKT. Gigi, the president of the sorority organization, intercepts and makes a deal. The sorority must accept anyone who wants to be a pledge. “What fresh hell is this?” says Chanel. All of the “normal” girls leave, deciding that only losers would stay. The new pledges include “neckbrace girl”, “predatory lesbian” and a “deaf Taylor Swift” according to Chanel. Grace, the show’s moral compass at the time, and her roommate Zayday are also included in the pledges. Grace’s father, Wes, dropped her off at campus and they had an emotional parting. The two are close because Grace’s mother died when she was young. She wants to join KKT because she knows her mother was a member. Grace immediately hits it off with Pete who sends Chanel over the edge because he can’t heat her pumpkin spice latte with no foam to several degrees below boiling. When he finds out Grace is rushing for KKT, he warns her that the house has a dark past. Pete says that he has been investigating the house. Chanel and Miss Bean (white mammy’s real name) devise a plan to scare the new pledges away from being in KKT. Chanel is going yell at Miss Bean and shove her face into the fryer. Miss Bean freaks out, but agrees when Chanel points out that they won’t turn the fryer on. Later that night, one of the girls finds a shrine of Chanel’s face scratched out in Miss Bean’s room. They all confront Miss Bean and Chanel outs her plan to scare the girls and insists she is going to do it anyway. You guessed it — the fryer was on. Miss Bean now lies dead on the kitchen floor. Grace decides to go to police, but Chanel threatens to blame it on her if she does. They all hide the body. Grace goes to Pete to tell him what happened, but he already knows because he was watching. Grace offers to supply Pete with information about KKT so he can write a paper to out them and return KKT back to normal. When the two go to examine the body, they are almost caught by Chanel and her boyfriend, Chad. They discover that the body is missing and Miss Bean could be alive. Also, Chad is sleeping with Dean Munsch and professed his love for her. In a previous scene he tells her to get out or she’ll barf on his face. Chad and Chanel have their own problems because Chad isn’t happy that KKT is accepting “losers.” The Chanels decide to take a blood oath of silence, but Chanel Number Two freaks out and decides that she is going home. As she’s packing, the red devil enters her room and they have a quick text conversation while standing in front of each other. She dances with the devil and the he stabs her. “Hell week” begins and when the hazing begins, Grace says she isn’t going to allow it. Chanel and Grace have a private coffee meeting where Chanel offers her a spot as Chanel Number Six. Grace refuses. We see a brief second of Chanel being a normal human being, but the she’s back to being a mean girl. The other pledges are buried underground, apart from their heads, for the entire night as a way to get acquainted. The red devil stops by and chops the head off of Deaf Taylor Swift. Grace snoops in the basement and finds the bloody bathtub and the mix tape including “Waterfalls”. Chanel admits that Dean Munsch and Miss Bean helped cover up the death and baby. Meanwhile, Chad and his roommate, Boon (Nick Jonas), cuddle in bed together because Boon is scared of the killer. Chad knows he’s gay, but allows the cuddling as long as Boon keeps his hands to himself. Chanel walks in and sees them together. While Pete is snooping in the dean’s office, he finds a list of names from the party in 1995. He is knocked out by the red devil and hung up on the side of a building with “MYOB” (My Your Own Business) pinned to his shirt. Pete and Grace are sharing their findings in Pete’s dorm room when she discovers the red devil costume in his closet. He admits that he is the school mascot, but Grace is freaked out and leaves. Boon meets with the Chanels and offers to come out of the closet as long as they accept him into the sorority. Chanel thinks it’s a great publicity stunt, but Chanel Number Five disagrees. Later on, Chanel is attacked in her room. She escapes and one of the two security guards comes to “help”. Her advice is to run. The girls go upstairs to investigate. “SLUTS WILL DIE” was written on the wall and all the girls share a dramatic scream. As the security guard makes it back to her partner, she discovers that she has a knife in her neck. Boon is shown working out in his room when the red devil appears. He is found some time later surrounded by candles, his throat slit. The girls have a hazing dinner that turns into a discussion of who the killer might be. The security guard and Chad burst in and spill that the other guard and Boon were killed. The closing scene shows the red devil enter the morgue and pull out Boon’s body. His eyes pop open and he peels off the patch on his neck that made it look like it was slit. “What took you so long?” Boon asks. -Kane on behalf of The Authority welcomes us to SmackDown. A “One Month Later” montage shows what our characters have been up to: Jim has been living with Leslie; Harvey has a new job as a bartender; Penguin has solidified his power Gotham’s underworld; and Barbara has voluntarily surrendered herself at Arkham Asylum. We meet Theo Galavan who gives a delusional man, dressed like a superhero, a blue liquid to drink. The next day, the man appears at a city block where Jim is seen at his new demoted job of directing traffic. The man fires multiple shots into the air. Jim diffuses the situation and is able to arrest the man without anyone getting hurt. Jim’s shift replacement finally arrives and tells him to relax. A frustrated Jim shoves his co-worker away. At GCPD, Jim is greeted by Edward Nygma in the locker room. As Jim is called away to Captain Essen’s office, Edward’s split personality kicks into high gear where his reflection taunts him with his love interest — Kristen Kringle. At Essen’s office, Jim is informed by Commissioner Loeb that he’s taking his badge away for “assaulting” the officer in the earlier scene (a ridiculous excuse we all know Loeb is happily using to get rid of Jim). Essen’s defense of Jim’s actions are shown to be futile with Loeb. Jim, though, refuses to be fired, so he quits. Before Jim leaves, he shakes Loeb’s hand and warns Loeb that he will make good on his promise to “break him.” Downstairs in one of the holding cells, the man dressed as a superhero burps up a bluish cloud of smoke.
Jim voices his regrets to Leslie about voluntarily resigning. He contemplates doing something illegal and immoral to get his job back. Leslie admits she’s happy that he’s no longer part of the GCPD. At Arkham, Barbara has settled in with the rest of the residents and is quickly greeted by a spry Jerome. He points out Richard Sionis to Barbara. Jerome tells her that Sionis has taken a liking to her and it would be to her benefit to have Sionis as a “friend.” Barbara quickly gets the attention of a dimwitted prisoner and flirts with him to get him to protect her. She mockingly tells Jerome that now she has a “friend.” Jerome emphasizes that Sionis can provide her with various resources. Interested, Barbara tells Jerome that she needs a telephone. Penguin, with his new associates, Butch, Selina, and another henchman, are having trouble getting an underboss, Ogden Barker, to pay his fee. Jim enters and asks Penguin for help in getting his job back. Delighted by this new “favor”, Penguin plays around with Jim and eventually agrees to help him, but for a price. Because Penguin has a hard time getting Barker to pay, he wants Jim to be his temporary enforcer. In return, Penguin will get Jim reinstated at GCPD and have Loeb fired. Jim pays a bartending Harvey a visit where he vents his frustrations. Jim learns that Harvey has been pretty content since leaving the department. After toasting Harvey’s new happiness, the two share a friendly goodbye. Next stop: Wayne Manor, where Jim personally tells Bruce that he’s been fired and can’t keep his promise to the young billionaire. Jim tells Bruce the line he needs to cross in order to get his job back. Bruce, in turn, poses the question that maybe “ugly” things need to be done in order for things to persevere. Jim takes Bruce’s comment to heart and leaves. As Alfred sees Jim out, Bruce quickly grabs a remote and opens the fireplace passageway to the cave. At the locked entryway, Bruce gives another try at opening the door. Defeated and angered, he smashes the keypad lock with a hammer. At Arkham, Barbara approaches Sionis and requests a telephone. Jim visits Barker at his nightclub and demands Penguin’s payment. Barker refuses and pulls a gun out. Feigning a count to three, Jim quickly subdues Ogden and his men and takes off with the money. Outside, uniformed officers are alerted to the commotion and give chase. Jim alludes the officers by running into a parking garage, but is ambushed by Barker. In self-defense, Jim shoots Barker and kills him. At Wayne Manor, Bruce’s plan is to break into the cave by using an improvised explosive made from fertilizer. Alfred, at first admonishing Bruce for such a dangerous plan, finally agrees to help him. Seeing that Jim has fulfilled his end of the bargain, Penguin agrees that he’ll get him reinstated. At home, Jim gets a call on his mobile phone from Barbara. She pretends to be distraught and claims that Leslie framed her and that it was Leslie who attacked first. Jim tells Barbara to never call him again. Suspicious, Leslie requests to know who called. Jim tries to lie, but Barbara calls their landline. This time, leaving a disturbing voicemail. Leslie suggests that the two of them leave Gotham, leaving everything behind. Jim tells her that he can’t due to some regretful actions on his part. Awoken by suspicious noises, Loeb discovers Penguin and Zsasz in his kitchen. Loeb calls for his bodyguard, but Zsasz shows him the bodyguard’s disembodied head. Penguin presents to Loeb his dilemma: Loeb has nothing to exploit, so the only option would be to kill Loeb and blackmail his replacement. Scared of his impending execution, Loeb agrees to whatever Penguin has in mind. At a ceremony in City Hall, Theo Galavan is introduced. As Galavan speaks, we discover that the ceremony is for the retirement of Loeb. Back at Arkham, Barbara lounges around with her new gang. The deranged man who was dressed as a superhero enters as the newest inmate. He makes a loud announcement, but is ignored by everyone. At the ceremony, Galavan thanks Loeb for his service. As Loeb makes his speech, it’s revealed that Essen will be the new commissioner. At Arkham, the deranged man continues to speak, but suddenly collapses. Blue smoke starts to shoot out from his mouth, rendering everyone in the room unconscious. Outside, an explosion breaks open the main doors. A woman in a gas mask enters, firing her gun. Essen welcomes Jim back to the GCPD and hands him his badge. At that moment, they’re alerted to the inmate escape at Arkham. In a high-rise loft, Barbara and the inmates are restrained to individual dollies. They’re quickly greeted by Galavan who also introduces his sister, Tabitha. Galavan proposes his idea of forming a team with criminal geniuses, but Sionis wants nothing to do with it. Pretending to allow Sionis to leave, Galavan has Tabitha brutally stab Sionis to death in front of the inmates. At Wayne Manor, Alfred finishes wiring the explosives. Bruce does the honors and blows open the door to the secret room. Entering, Bruce finds a letter addressed to him from Thomas. It’s revealed that the code to the room was BRUCE. Continuing to read the heartfelt message, Thomas’s last words to Bruce are to choose happiness over the truth … unless he feels a true calling. Best Moments: The friendship between Jim and Harvey. I know, I know. This is one of the shortest and least conflicted moments in the episode. But for some reason, this scene was pretty satisfying. I liked seeing how far the two former partners have come. Contrast this with the very first episode from Season 1 where Harvey hated Jim’s guts, and you’ll know what I mean. This scene was subtle, but I really enjoyed it and commend both Benjamin McKenzie and Donal Logue for pulling it off. When Bruce reads Thomas’s letter to him, I couldn’t help but feel that this was an homage to Batman: Arkham Knightand Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. Final Thoughts: The Season 2 premiere of Gotham could’ve used a bit more twists and turns with the characters. The introduction of Theo Galavan as a man with a one-side agenda seemed a bit rushed. The character could’ve been made a bit more compelling had they made his true intentions a mystery. The creation of a villainous team was also a bit cheesy. I have feeling that they’re trying to ride on the coattails of the whole Suicide Squad craze. I think ,would be the fact that Jim Gordon, who’s set up to be this hard-nosed, clean-cut, sharp cop, keeps going back to Penguin and expecting different results. How may times has our future top cop been burned? I hope there’s more to what Jim’s doing than just small favors here and there. At this point, Penguin seems to be the new deus ex machina of the show. Have a problem? Go to Penguin? Need someone dead or gone? Go to Penguin. The premiere episode was focused on Jim’s goal of getting reinstated, but the writing could’ve been spiced up a bit, especially in terms of character development. Here’s to hoping that the season known as Rise of the Villains will give us some compelling stories. -Rollins says that this Sunday at Night of Champions he will make history when he will retain his United States & World Heavyweight Championships against John Cena & Sting who are two first ballad WWE Hall of Famers in the same night. First and foremost, in case anyone was on the fence about it, Theo is evil. His dastardly plan, all along, was to meticulously separate Scott from his pack, including best friend Stiles, so he could create his own pack. The separation began with throwing heavy guilt on Stiles, planting in his head that Scott would never forgive or understand how and why he killed Donovan. Distraught, Stiles took it out on his beloved jeep when it died on him yet again. He tossed the offended wrench he used to kill Donovan into the window of the jeep. His guilt also pushed Stiles farther away from Malia, evidenced by their strained conversation when she picked him up after his jeep broke down. Scott’s mother, Melissa, was called in to help with a dying Hayden. Liam is distraught and angry that Scott refuses to give her the wolf bite. Scott tries to tell Liam that she is too weak and the bite would kill her, but he will hear none of his answers. Lydia is sitting with Parrish as they discuss finding out what he is. A conversation about a violent storm reminds Lydia about a conversation she had with Kira about a legend, the Wild Hunt, and she heads to the library. At the library, Lydia finds a book about a legend of dark figures and a wolf hound. As Lydia prepares to find everyone and tell them what she found, Theo shows up at the library and begins to reveal his plan. He says he can’t let Lydia tell anyone and knocks her out. The next is Malia. Theo shows Malia how he can morph from wolf to human and she wonders how he does that. Theo also tells her that he knows she plans to kill her mother and can help. He also tells her about Melissa taking Hayden to the hospital and they can’t have that. Malia follows him but he winds up locking her up in a storage room with one of the Dread Doctor experiments. Scott gets a text from Lydia asking him to meet her in the library. He can’t find her but is surprised to see Theo holding mountain ash and spreading it around the library. Theo tells Scott that he has many tricks up his sleeve, including isolating Scott so he is out of the way for what he has planned. Liam, unable to help Hayden, goes in search of Scott. He attacks Scott at the library when he finds him, fueled by the moon. Scott, unsure why he is weakened, realizes Theo put wolf’s bane in his inhaler. Scott is killed. Mason finds Liam and tells him that Hayden is dead. Malia, fighting for her life is saved by Braeden, who tells her that her mother knows about her plans. Melissa finds Scott. She gives him CPR, telling him that she wants to hear him roar. He finally comes back to life in a roar. As for poor Lydia, she wakes up in the lair of the Dread Doctors, listening to Theo’s dreaded plan. He taps into Lydia’s power and sees where Parrish was taking all the bodies. Taking a syringe from a tank with a specimen body inside, Theo takes Lydia with him. Theo injects each of the dead bodies, considered failed experiments by the Dread Doctors, and revives them. He tells them they are his – meaning he now has a pack. The Dread Doctors break open a wall in their lair to reveal a painting on the wall. Two figures are locked in battle and one is a hellhound.
