Aria still has her suspicions about Ezra and hasn’t given up her investigation. She even teamed up with Spencer, a la “Sparia” to do a little breaking and entering. What they found inside Sara’s apartment was rather shocking. Hidden inside one of her many black leather gloves was a set of blueprints. It turned out that Sara is living in Charlotte’s old room at Radley.
Meanwhile, Caleb and Hanna meet up after she gets another threat from “A.” It seems the new stalker plans to ruin her relationship with Jordan if she doesn’t hand over the hotel security footage from the night of Charlotte’s murder. Caleb reassures Hanna that he will always be there for her, and Hanna tells him that she knows. Despite both Caleb and Hanna seeing other people, the chemistry between them is still off the charts.
Emily is staying with Hanna at Lucas’ penthouse temporarily and when she shows up, pillow in hand, she walks in on Hanna making out with Jordan and it’s a rather uncomfortable moment. It turns out that Emily’s big secret is that she’s donating eggs to a couple in order to pay her tuition so she can return to school. That plan blows up in Emily’s face as she’s recovering from the egg harvest, as it seems the couple was able to get pregnant on their own. Emily opts to donate her eggs rather than destroy them, leaving them out there and we know “A” will get their hands on them somehow.
Alison was there for Emily throughout the whole procedure, or at least, that’s what she claimed. Being of the biggest liars of the bunch, you just never know with Alison. So when Emily is recovering from the egg harvest and is still under anesthesia, she is just awake enough to see Sara put something unknown into her IV. Naturally, Emily freaks out and insists that Sara injected her. Alison says that no one came or went and she was outside the room the whole time. Do we believe her?
Hanna confronted her mom about the missing footage, knowing that Ashley had everything to do with its disappearance though she denied having anything to do with it. Ashley tells Hanna that she should just be glad the tape has been destroyed and leave it alone. Obviously, she’s unaware that Hanna’s relationship has been threatened and the footage is the only thing that will keep “A” from going on a mission to push Jordan away from her. After Ashley leaves, Hanna and Aria tear apart the pantry on a mission to find the missing footage but it looks like Hanna’s mom knows better than to hide anything in food boxes anymore and the Liars fail to find what they are looking for.
Spencer is tricked into meeting with Yvonne, thinking that she has a lunch date with Gil. Caleb urges Spencer to get out of there but Spencer wants to hear what Toby’s new girlfriend has to say. It turns out that Yvonne wasn’t the one who scheduled the surprise lunch so Spencer pretends she just wanted to have a chat with Yvonne since she’s the daughter of the candidate running against Spencer’s mom. The meeting ends with pretty much everyone wondering why it even happened and we learn toward the end of “Do Not Disturb” that Mona, also working for the opposition, set up the meeting. She probably hoped Spencer and Yvonne wouldn’t get along and Spencer would expose something but that didn’t work out so well. Did Mona finally get outplayed?
Things come to a head for Hanna when she heads back to New York to deal with her horrible boss. Claudia ends up firing Hanna for being late, only to replace her with a much less competent assistant. On her way out, Hanna’s boss insists she does a few more ridiculous errands if she wants to stay on staff as an “assistant 2” and Hanna tells her to take the job and shove it. When Claudia threatens Hanna about having to start completely over with her career if she walks, Hanna bites back and tells her she’s been bullied by a whole lot worse and she certainly means it. Of course, Hanna didn’t want to lose her job even if her boss is a complete witch and she cries to Jordan about now being unemployed. Jordan reassures her that he doesn’t care if Hanna is now jobless and he’ll marry her anyway.
In the last minutes of the episode, things started moving pretty fast. Spencer, still in Sara’s apartment, goes searching for Aria and uncovers a huge hole in the brick wall with a ladder leading down. She never does find Aria and we’re left to wonder if she climbed down or if someone took her. A carton of eggs is left outside Lucas’ door for Emily with a threat that she better expose Charlotte’s killer or else the new Big Bad, now dubbed “Evil Emoji” will use her eggs.
Right at the end, we finally see Caleb get one step ahead of this new Evil Emoji. When the new gloved stalker goes to plug the hard drive containing the fake footage into their computer, up pops video of Caleb letting the Liars’ terrorist know that he will be changing up the rules and, with that, everything on the hard drive is wiped out. Take that, Evil Emoji!
