At Sam’s apartment, Sam prepares Danny for the GH Christmas party. Ric thanks Sam for letting him crash at her place. Sam tells Ric that she hasn’t seen Molly this happy in a long time. Later Molly urges her dad to go see Elizabeth. Ric leaves and TJ drops by to see Molly. She tells him the good news about her dad. TJ gives her a gift, she tells him that she loves it and she loves him.
Maxie arrives in Portland and talks to Nathan on the phone as she makes her way to Spinelli’s apartment. Maxie finally knocks on the door and Spinelli invites her in. Ellie is at work for the day. Maxie finally sees her daughter, who is playing with some toys on the floor. Maxie and Spinelli talk, Maxie believes Nathan knows more than he’s saying about the judge reversing his decision. Spinelli gets a call from Ellie, so he excuses himself.
At General Hospital, the children gather to hear the Christmas story. Suddenly the lights in the hospital flicker and Dr. Obrect shows up dressed like a monster. Patrick and Nikolas confront her and she explains she is educating the children about Krampus. She gathers everyone around for the story about Krampus, a Christmas monster who eats bad little children. All the children scream at the story, all but Joss who loves it. Nikolas puts an end to Krampus and has Monica bring out Santa for the kids. Sam arrives with Danny and she locks eyes with Jason/Jake. Meanwhile Patrick talks with Elizabeth, she asks him to drop Cameron off after the party so she and Jake can slip out and set-up Cameron’s present. Elizabeth then quickly prevents Jake and Sam from having words, and she steals Jake away. Sam then goes to talk to Patrick. Patrick surprises her with a gift, a keychain for all her silly putty keys she makes while on the job. They later share a kiss under the mistletoe. Elsewhere, Obrecht sees Nathan up and around and thinks he should be in bed. He scolds his mother for her scary tale, but thanks her for making it possible for Maxie to see her daughter. He asks how she got the judge to change his mind? Obrecht remembers going to Monica and threatening to replace her as chief of cardiology if she didn’t get the judge to change his mind. Obrecht tells Nathan she simply motivated Monica. Nathan returns to his room and gets a video call from Maxie and Georgie. She says this is the best Christmas she’s ever had. Obrecht soon joins Nathan and sees a screen shot of Maxie and Georgie. He thanks Obrecht again and says, “Merry Christmas mom.” Obrecht cries and then begins singing “The First Noel.” Elsewhere the judge shows up at the hospital to see Monica. She remembers having to withhold affection from the judge in order to make him reverse his decision. Monica still wonders why he was so harsh with Maxie, and she thinks it has to do with his own daughter Kayla. It turns out the judge had a troubled daughter that he always bailed out and never punished. His daughter ended up dying in an accident after drunk driving one night. The judge didn’t want Maxie to go through life breaking all the rules like Kayla.
Jake and Elizabeth return to her house, where they find mistletoe hanging over her doorway. Jake admits he helped Cameron make and hang it. As Jake is about to kiss her, Ric shows up. Elizabeth is overjoyed and runs into his arms. Ric introduces himself to Jake and they shake. Jake knows who he is and leaves them to talk. Ric explains about his faked death and Julian framing him. He says that his feelings for her haven’t changed and he was hoping they could start again. The two kiss as Jake spies them from the door.
