1st Match: Naomi vs Charlotte
Winner: Charlotte
-It needs to be noted that Team B.A.D. always comes out together and as a full unit, mainly because Paige has Tough Enough commitments and can’t be in two places at once. A 3-team Elimination Match is advertised for SummerSlam among the three teams that have been going at it for weeks now. I would personally like to see Nattie as the referee in that one just to get her involved, but I know it’ll never happen. Charlotte gets the early advantage and knocks Namoi to the outside, but that’s where Naomi uses a distraction from her team to catch Charlotte off-guard with a clothesline and toss her back in the ring. We return from commercial to see Charlotte with a Rear Chinlock on Naomi. The former Funkadactyl breaks free and hits a nice double knee takedown. Naomi utilizes pulling Charlotte’s long hair through out this match. Naomi hits an impressive Splits pinfall attempt for a two-count. To her credit, she stays on Charlotte and locks in her own Rear Chinlock. When Charlotte starts fighting out, Naomi goes for a Bulldog and Charlotte blocks. Charlotte then catches a rough kick to the face, dizzying her a bit. After a few chops from Charlotte, she takes down Naomi and gets a two-count. Naomi then takes a bit too much time recovering and gets Backdropped over the top rope and onto her teammates! Charlotte then locks in her Figure-Eight finisher and Naomi taps out within seconds!
-A flashback to one of the more interesting things to happen on RAW in a long time is shown where Steven Amell of the TV show Arrow got involved with Stardust, Neville, and King Barrett…resulting in a big tag team match booked for Summerslam between the teams of Neville & Amell against King Barrett & Stardust.
-Ryback comes out and speaks about his big IC Title win in the Elimination Chamber. He then speaks about the staph infection he has been dealing with and how he “meat hooked that staph infection…shell shocked that infection…and then trailblazed his ass all the way to Portland” which elicits a great crowd response that is obviously not canned noise. He attributes those same cheering fans for giving him the power to return bigger and badder than ever.
-Bray Wyatt appears on the screen and whispers…”WE’RE HERE!” Luke Harper gets some rare microphone time before his match with Roman before passing the talking stick to Bray and they promote their Tag Team “Family vs. Family” Match at SummerSlam. Dean Ambrose interrupts Bray’s normally cryptic promo, and literally saying he “doesn’t have much to say and that he wants to watch Roman do what he does best.” Cue Roman Reigns coming through the crowd.
2nd Match: Luke Harper vs Roman Reigns
Winner: Roman Reigns
-Reigns tees off on Harper in the early going and takes down Luke first with a nice clothesline, then follows it up with a clothesline that sends Luke over the top rope and to the floor! We return from commercial to see Luke Harper elbowing out of a waistlock and hitting and impressive Tilt-A-Whirl slam for a two-count. He then stomps and stands on Roman’s head and neck, really taking it to Reigns. A European Uppercut and Slingshot into the middle rope earn Luke another close two-count! Luke remains in control and starts doing his patented Gator Roll into a Rear Chinlock that Reigns eventually fights out of. Reigns lures Luke into the corner, who goes for a Big Boot and gets his foot caught in the ropes. More goes wrong for the Wyatt Family as Harper crushes his shoulder into the steel post when going for a Shoulderblock on Reigns in the corner. They begin trading punches and uppercuts until Harper hits a nice kick to the gut, but Roman fires back with a pair of clotheslines and a whip into the corner. Roman tries to capitalize, but Harper shows his unusual agility with a wild-looking Dropkick that sends Roman outside. Harper gets slammed hard on the edge of the ring apron before Roman hits a patented move of his own with that running dropkick on the apron to Harper. Bray Wyatt teases getting involved in the match, but Dean Ambrose is there to cut him off. Huge Samoan Drop by Reigns gets a two-count. Ambrose and Bray are focused on as they brawl outside and Bray eventually hits a Flapjack on Dean into the security railing! With a bit more fatigue, both men start trading punches again…this time Roman gets the advantage, but Luke gets the ultimate last laugh as he kicks Roman in the face when the referee was simply trying to separate them and get them away from the ropes. Roman nails a Superman Punch and goes for the pin, but Bray Wyatt is able to slide in and cause the DQ. After the match, The two teams fight in the ring a bit before Dean dives outside and takes them both out! Ambrose gets cocky and tries to finish things alone, but Bray retaliates. Roman comes in with a late save and lays waste to both members of the Wyatt Family before dumping them over the railing, forcing them to tuck their tails between their legs and leave.
-Backstage, Sheamus is interviewed about his possible monumental cash-in of the Money in the Bank briefcase that just barely slipped through his fingers. Sheamus stays focused on Randy Orton being the only reason he is not WWE World Heavyweight Champion right now.
3rd Match: PTP vs The New Day
Winner: Prime Time Players
-Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins are seen backstage going over strategy. Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam is then recapped and promoted even more with the entire saga of the recent happenings between the two are shown in a separate segment for the show. The Main Event is NEXT!
4th Match: Kevin Owens/Seth Rollins vs Neville/Cesaro
Winner: Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens
-WWE seems really high on tag team matches that don’t involve the Tag Team Championships for some reason these days. Five non-title tag matches booked for SummerSlam, and the least important of them is the Fatal 4-way for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Certainly and odd note to be aware of. Cesaro and Rollins start this one off with Cesaro getting the early upper hand by catching Seth on a cross-body attempt and turning it into a Stalling Suplex. Neville hits a Dropkick to Owens as Cesaro is coming down with the Suplex and follows it up with a Standing Shooting Star Press on Seth that forces both Rollins and Owens to the outside! Returning from commercial, we find Rollins & Owens in firm control of the match as they cut the ring in half on Neville. They taunt Cesaro to goad him into getting involved. While the referee’s back is turned, Owens hits a cheap shot and his patented Cannonball in the corner. Once Owens finally misses a move, his big time Senton…Neville almost is able to tag in while Owens tags in Rollins. Seth prevents the inevitable for a minute or so before Neville does several backflips to land in his corner and tag in Cesaro. The Swiss Superman delivers uppercuts everywhere before hoisting Rollins well above his head and tossing him over the top rope and into Owens! Cesaro then uses his miraculous talent to hit an insane Barrel-Roll Splash to the outside as Neville flies over and takes out Owens. Cesaro is able to hit a Flying Cross-Body back into the ring on Rollins and earn himself a two-count. Owens gets back into the fray and takes out Cesaro. This opens up Cesaro to a nasty Powerbomb in the Turnbuckle and a Pedigree that Cesaro is able to reverse miraculously into the Sharpshooter. He drags Rollins into the ring, but Owens gets involved and gives just enough time for Rollins to get the roll-up victory via pulling Cesaro’s tights! After the match, Cesaro stands up for himself and slams Owens to the mat with authority (trademark Gorilla Monsoon circa 1987) so they can end the show on a high note by standing tall over the top heels in the company.
