Meanwhile, Bob Paris has kidnapped James. I bet he’s regretting letting Norma into his home now. Bob demands to know any dirt James might have on Norma. At first, James refuses to spill the beans. After a little bit of torture though, James tells Bob everything – including Norman killing his Normas husband. More on this later.
A 23 feet deep pool? That’s what is being built outside of the motel. Romero and Norma are finding this very suspicious. Speaking of Romero, you’re going to love this. Romero goes to the dealership Norma traded her car in to get her car back, knowing that Norma loved that car and regretted her decision. It’s a very cute moment! The two almost shared a kiss, it’s still adorable, but by the end of the episode…it won’t matter anymore.
Romero pays Bob a visit to talk about the “pool.” Bob, however, has another topic he wants to discuss with him – Norma. Bob begins to tell him about James, and how Norman is responsible for the death of his father. Bob tells Romero that Norma is just using him and has been lying to him the whole time.
Sheriff Romero tries to keep a straight face, but you can see doubt and hurt. He goes over to Norma’s and tells her not to lie and tell him the truth, “how did your husband die?” Norma tells him about the accident and that she had already told him this. Romero asks if that’s the truth and shakes his head when Norma insists on her story. He then leaves disappointed and we all feel incredibly bad for him.
Great. Just when they throw us Romero/Norma fans a bone they crush our dreams.
The following day, Norman tells his mother what James told him, about him being attracted to her. Norma blows it off and tells Norman that being attracted to her is ridiculous. She apologizes for brining James in the house. They end up cuddling, totally normal. Back with Dylan – Chick is loading up the truck. This is where Caleb shows up and decides to accompany him whether Dylan wants to or not. On their way, Caleb mentions leaving the town once the barn is finished. Dylan also calls Emma to let her know he’ll be out-of-town for a couple of days. You can tell there is something going on with these two, an attraction. After hanging up, Emma approaches Norman. She explains that she feels Norman hasn’t been “all there” in the relationship. Norman runs back in the house after an awkward hug. After locking himself up in his room, Norman has a vision of his dog Juno. You know, the dead one.
Caleb’s fatherly instinct was right. The gun-run was a setup. The guys they were supposed to deliver to are not happy with Chick and had originally planned on killing him. Since he’s not there, they decide to kill either Dylan or Caleb, to send back a message.
Before leaving, Caleb had hidden a gun under the truck. He grabs and a gunfire fight commences. The duo manages to escape, but the whole situation is not looking like it’ll go away that easily.
James is packing up and gets into his car, it looks like he is on his way out of town – and who can blame him! Norma catches him and asks what the hell is going on. James admits that he told Bob everything because they threatened him. See where this is going? Last week, Norma had a house full of people. Now, she lost everyone. James is skipping town, Romero doesn’t trust her anymore, Caleb and Dylan are out and have their own thing to worry about, and Norman, well Norman isn’t much help – he IS the issue.
Norma immediately goes to see Norman and tells him that she told James about him killing his father. Norman does not take this confession well. Norma cracks as they have a shouting-match. She tells Norman that she has no idea what it’s like to be his mother, finishing with “You’re going to kill me, Norman!” Talk about foreshadowing. As soon as Norma leaves, Norman has a vision of her. The vision-Norma tells Norman not to worry and that it’s them against the world. Scared, Norman runs out of the house and into the street. Norman only stops because there is a car in the middle of the road. In front of the car is girl standing there, Bradley.
-Thoughts:
Dylan and Caleb are getting close. And what happens when people get close? Death happens.
Romero and Norma will be OK, right? They just have to be!
Bradley is back! I wonder what she’s been up to.
Emma thinks she’s in a love triangle, but I don’t think Norman wants her.
