The salmon ladder is back! Oh, how we have longed for its return. However, as interesting as it was to see Oliver scale it in a business suit, I believe he would reap greater rewards if he were to work out shirtless.
Of course, I’m only thinking of Oliver. It can’t be easy to breathe in a form-fitting suit and tie. And it’s probably much hotter as well. So, less would definitely be more in this case.
Watching the recruits attempt the salmon ladder is going to be entertaining in a completely different way, as Curtis proved effectively.
The flashbacks shed light on the physical and mental brutality of The Bratva’s tactics. In Oliver’s defense, those tactics, along with the unyielding demands of surviving Lian Yu, turned him into a fierce combatant. It’s the only way he knows. It worked for him. Fortunately, Oliver is exhibiting some rarely seen flexibility and has expressed willingness to work with the new recruits in a more conventional way. Whether that serves them well or not remains to be seen.
I’ve said many times already that I love Thea in the role of the mayor’s assistant, and Quentin may have had something when he said the wrong Queen ran for office. She’s a natural in the public forum. And her heart apparently swells three sizes when those about whom she cares are in need. Even after Oliver told her to cut Quentin loose, she continues her crusade to save this guy who has already lost so much. I’m not sure, though, that offering him the role of deputy mayor is the best way to go. I sincerely hope her bleeding heart doesn’t come back to kick her in the ass. Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time a drunk held public office.
When Oliver reached out to The Ragman to join Team Arrow, the offer was sincere, and the conversation that followed was heartfelt. It was an incredible moment between two vigilantes with a common tragedy.
“I can’t do it alone. I need a team. Let’s honor the legacies of our fathers together.” — The Green Arrow
I’m looking forward to seeing more of The Ragman and learning more about this young man’s back story. I’m eager to learn about his dad and these ancient rags that saved his son.
In this case, I’m guessing the phrase ‘the enemy of my enemy is my ally’ doesn’t apply. Something tells me the that Prometheus’ plans for The Green Arrow horrifically exceed anything Tobias Church could dream up in his worst nightmares. It’s going to be exciting to watch this Big Bad evolve.
