I knock at his door tentatively -
Does he even still care?
More nervous now than I had been the first time on this doorstep,
six months ago.
He broke me open a month ago -
I hadn't seen him since.
He welcomes me in, half a smile,
I follow down that old familiar hall,
12 steps to his bedroom.
I kick off my shoes and lay on the bed -
"breathe woman, breathe" I tell myself,
"act normal. You know him inside out."
His hand is in my hair,
pushing a strand of jet black back behind my ear.
I grin and before I know it,
his lips crashed against mine and there's electricity in my veins
and I feel home once more.
So I'm ripping off his shirt and his hands are up my skirt -
he cracks me open,
I break him down.
There's that wild look in his eyes I loved so damn much,
he's moaning my name and I'm digging my nails down into his skin.
So we lay naked side-by-side for awhile after,
his hand on my thigh.
And we talked and we laughed and he watches me out the corner of his eye,
Occasionally tracing the lines of my belly ring with a lazy finger.
I spin crop-circles on his back for an eternity,
watching him breathe,
and as soon as he grabs my hand and holds it tight.
He pulls me on top of him and we kiss until i can't tell who's breathing for who.
